I have an Acer Iconia W511, but I am very disappointed when my tablet can not upgrade Windows 10. Recent news report some tablets can not upgrade Windows 10 and Acer will not support to upgrade — that’s not good.
Will Acer Iconia W511 upgrade Windows 10? — I need an answer.

Maybe you got some answers there, I dont know how different could be the W510 from W511, but I see a common problem there.
Good day to all.
I’m was running a windows 8.1 W511 (10″tablet) Acer tablet and just updated to Windows 10
this is how I got windows to update.
1. I first took 8GB micro SD card formatted it to Fat32
2. made sure I had 16 GB storage on tab. (Not really needed)
3. Create a Windows 10
Update using windows media update Windows 10 media creation tool.for my 8.1 (but us micro SD card min 8 GIG)
4. I selected windows 10 home from the list
5. after it downloaded it ask what storage to and I selected under my PC: I selected Micro SD drive.
After completing:
6. I opened the drive SD and ran the exe file.
7. it started the update process and completed
8. it restarted and complete further with the windows 10 update.
9. pc restarted and all running well so far.
10. just restart +-2 x to allow windows to configure properly.
11. Enjoy.

for Microsoft said this will not work and also said my tablet is not compatible. well I showed them there is no problem for Windows 10 to run on Acer W511 and this is also for you Acer!
Strange thing is now the download for Update Media windows update link is no more available. It makes me now think its all about monies. They just want us to buy new devices. For me it was windows 10 or the hi-way for me to go to Apples Mac.
It’s been over almost a week and all going well!

You can run windows 10 on to your W511 Acer.
Use media download program from Microsoft
insert 8 Gig SD card into slot (format to Fat32)
select Windows 10 Home from the list ofter running Media (windows 10 update)
When you get asked to update now or later select later and seclect destination for windows 10 update being 8Gig Sd card
after download complete remember don»t remove sd card. Plug power in.
Run the setup EXE file on SD card and the installation for Windows 10 will take place.
