In the virtual xp I installed the xp driver for scanjet 3400C I cannot succeed to attach the scanjet as it doesn’t appear in the USB dropdown menu on the top of xp screen. So far when running the «hp precisionscan LTX» the scanner is not found and cannot be initialized. The scanner was running without problem under vista. I deactivate «fax and scan» of window7 to try to solve the problem but I have the same problem. Any idea to solve the problem ?

But when running the «hp precisionscan LTX» the scanner is still not found and cannot be initialized. Thank you if you can help
Windows 7 Driver for HP ScanJet 3400C01-30-2016 07:01 AM i also tried a long time. i suppose i cannot help you at all, but — i think you are using W7-64-prof (for w7-32 it seams to do -> read old posts) — all post i read say, no chance �� — therfore with another installation of w7 i user w7-32 and/ or — doubble boot with ubuntu — now version 14.04 — because i don’t want to throw away this scanner . but in ubuntu you cannot use the utility from hp, with you mentioned this means, a new scanner or other system (ubuntu or w7-32) — sorry

This could be perfect if I can find to succeed everytime and not time to time . There another problem. How to add acrobat reader in the destination. I don’t remember how I did before . So for the moment I have image file (bmp) If you have idea ?
Windows 7 Driver for HP ScanJet 3400C01-30-2016 09:30 AM oh, another sorry �� i don’t use my scanner under w7 — i installed w7-32 only «just for fun». but again the hint — look for older posts if not already done. i found a lot of posts, whicht discribed solving the problem with w7-32 an hp3400. i think, they say, use the driver from xp or vista — maybe sj652en.exe (??) i’m using ubuntu — beginning with version 8.04. i found it boring to finance bill gates — he is rich enough �� there is nothing i am missing. sometimes i look for a problem for a program

Under Ubuntu, which is where I use the scanner the most, there are several flavours: pure Ubuntu, XUbuntu, LUbuntu, and so on, not to speak about Mint and other Ubuntu-based distros. The one I feel at home with is XUbuntu. I’m currently running both 12.04 and 14.04, 64 bits in both cases. XUbuntu brings a basic app to deal with scanners called Simple Scan («Applications > Grahics» or «Applications > Graphic Design»). It can’t claim to be a full fledged application when it comes to scanning documents, but I promise it is capabl enough for most of your works.
