I cant launch DotA 2 any more. I keep getting Error: (0x0000007e) the specified module could not be found. (engine2.dll)
I verified game cache, it said there was a file missing, and proceeded to download it. once it was done, i launched dota 2 and the same error again.. anyone know how to fix or if i can just copy osmeone else’s dll file?

OK I HAVE FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

1) Open Steam
2) Make sure you are logged in on your account
3) Go to your Games tab near the top left next to f xcvfd»Friends»
4) Hit «View Game Library»
5) On the left Side there will be a game list of all the games you have
6) Find DOTA 2 and right click on it
7) When the drop down menu shows up, hit «properties»
8) When the menu shows up click the «local files» tab
9) When you click this tab 4 buttons will show up
10) Select «Verify Integrity Of Game Cache»
11) An update bar should show up now’
12) Wait until you finish the download/update
13) When you finish the download/update you can hit «close»
14) Finally launch DOTA 2

Dota 2

I’ve been wanting to try out Dota 2 for a long time, and I especially want to check out the workshop tools as well. The problem is that I can’t, because whenever I try to run the x64 version of the game (which is required for the workshop tools), the game immediately crashes and gives me this error message:

«Failed to load the engine2 DLL.

Path: ‘C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommondota 2 betagameinwin64engine2.dll’

Error: (0x0000045a) A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.»

I’ve looked at numerous forum posts and guides across the Internet, but I can’t find someone who’s had this particular error (0x0000045a). I’d really like some help on what to do, I’m completely lost.
